This is our main fund raising event this year please come and join us.
Next month our speaker will be Alison Clark who will be demonstrating ‘Belly Dancing’, on Thursday, 17 September at 7:30 pm. The competition is for ‘An Unusual Object’.
Member Joan Bower has invited the Institute to her home for afternoon tea during September to celebrate the formation of the first WI in 1915, we are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather, and thank you Joan.
We were then introduced to our speaker, Graham Keal from Newark, a Freelance Reporter who specialises in celebrity, TV and entertainment. He regaled us with his exploits both good, and not so good, and the many people he had met during his long career, giving them marks out of ten for their ability to give a good interview, which gave surprising results. He proved a very good entertainer himself and everyone was enthralled.
The competition for ‘A Glass Object’ was won by Pauline Pottinger and the raffle by Margaret Oliver.
