For December we started on the 5th with the annual Carol Service held withing the River Group, this year at East Markham WI, a very delightful start to the Christmas Festivities.
Then on Thursday 14th we welcomed Paul Dyson, Wildlife Artist, back for what I think was his third visit. He presented a slide show of his exploits in Botswana with photos of the vast variety of animals there, his tales of his camping out and animals walking through the camp at all times of thee day and night had us gasping. The second half of his talk and picture show was when he climbed Mera Peak in the Himalayas, with stunning shots of the snow covered peaks and photos of the people who live there. Afterwards we were able to purchase his prints, cards and other goodies depicting his gorgeous artwork.
After the talk we went on the sample the food bought by Members for our Christmas Party, we never know what we are going to have , it all depends upon what Members bring, however we had a lovely spread. Thank you to Everyone.
As we have a secret Santa type Christmas gifts it was decided that the competition was for the wrapping and decoration to be judged. The winner was a decorated brown paper parcel, who would have thought this would have won with all the other brightly well decorated parcels, well done to everyone.

Our next Meeting is on Thursday, 18 January when we will be listening to Gerry East whose talk is entitled Heart Start, about resuscitation and heart problems.
Meanwhile may we wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year from the Members of Egmanton WI.
