Many members were on holiday and others were ill on the night.
Anyway we all had a very enjoyable and messy evening, see our photos on the gallery.

Well I am finally ready for our Meeting tonight.
After a quick trip to the shops and turning out my kitchen cupboards, plus a 'little preparation', we are ready for an evening of 'EXPLODING ART'. I hope not literally, anyway it may be messy, adults acting as kids!!! Hope you all enjoy it. Unfortunately our speaker for tomorrow, Thursday, 16 April, has had to cancel due to a family emergency. So sorry no belly dancing. I hope to rearrange for a later date.
In the meantime I have a cunning plan which may mean you all get rather messy, but I hope you will enjoy the evening. Ready to wobble your belly or hips?
Don't forget to come and see Alison demonstrate the art of Belly Dancing next Thursday, 7.30pm Egmanton Village Hall. New Members welcome but you can come as a guest for £4 Why not come and meet the Members and see whether you would like to join us. Check out our programme, we have a lot going on this year. Hot off the press we are trying to arrange a visit to Felley Priory Gardens on Thursday, 9 July Hopefully we will see you on Thursday when you can find out what else we have planned Four Members went to Sutton on Trent WI's birthday party on Thursday. We had a very good meal followed by entertainment by The Farndon Players which was highly amusing. A good night enjoyed by all. Well done Sutton.
Please done forget our next meeting is on Thursday, 19 February at 7:30 pm in Egmanton Village Hall. Andrew Whitelee from Verdant Wildlife is giving a talk and slide show on The British Countryside at Night. Everyone is welcome to attend. Guests £4 including refreshments. Our first meeting of 2015 was held in Egmanton Village Hall on a very cold and windy night. However it did not stop 15 Members from attending. We went through the usual business; and
due to circumstances a change to our Constitution was discussed and Members agreed to change the date of our AGM for this year, and years to come, to be held in February not December. Therefore, although our year will run from January to December, our next AGM will be held in February 2016 and our December Meeting for 2015 will be a Christmas Party. Another change to our 2015 programme is that our birthday party will now held on FRIDAY, 16 OCTOBER. It will be a fund raising PIE AND PEAS QUIZ NIGHT, further details in due course please make a note in your diaries. Members then enjoyed bowls of soup whilst playing, Scrabble, Rummikub and ‘Who’s in the Box?’, Games bought in by Members. Everyone enjoyed the evening ending with a cup of tea or coffee. Our February Meeting is on THURSDAY, 19 FEBRUARY AT 7:30PM in Egmanton Village Hall when we will be welcoming ANDREW WHITELEE from Verdant Wildlife who will be giving us a slide show on THE BRITISH COUNTRYSIDE AT NIGHT. Guests are welcome at a charge of £4 to include refreshments or perhaps you would like to become a Member. The competition for the evening is: A Owl in any form. Hope to see you there. Happy New Year to everyone from Egmanton Women's Institute.
Over the festive period we have made friends with other Institutes around the country and also CWA in Tasmania on Facebook, see our page. We are starting off the New Year with our first meeting on Thursday, 15 January with and Indoor Games Evening with a supper of soup and bread. Please join us. Our programme for 2015 is now on the website and I hope everyone will enjoy the events lined up. 2015 in the centenary year for the Women's Institute and there will be a lot going on around the country, see the website for www.thewi.org.co.uk from that site you will be able to find an Institute near you, so please join us and find new friends and interests. Well the year has ended with our AGM and Christmas party. We have had a very busy year starting with Portrait Painting, which was quite an eye opener, we had three energetic meetings with Indoor Games, Kurling and Tai Chi. We learnt about our native trees and we were informed that most that we believe to be native are not. Our fund raising St George’s Pie and Peas Quiz Night was a success but we had problems with our journey to Argentina due to no curtains in the hall, but we managed. In June we had the Centenary Baton Relay and tractor ride, followed by lunch at The Plough making it a memorable day.
Our outing to Brodworth Hall was a good day out and the following month we were transported to India by Jane and Joan to experience life on a children’s hospital ward. The Group Meeting provided a different aspect on flower arranging; this was then followed by our birthday party at The Plough. I have already mentioned November and we ended the year with Group Carols at Laxton Church. The vote for President ended with me serving for another year and the Committee remained the same with the welcome addition of Jennie Cheyney. Committee Members are: Susan Martin, Julia Smith, Janet Carlisle, Sandra Taylor, Sheila Francis, Susan Parman, Joan Bower, Lydia Anderson and Jennie Cheyney. The competition for the year was won by Sheila Francis. Correspondence notified us of the AGM of Notts Federation in March with the main speaker being Ruth Goodman, recently seen on TV building a castle in France. The programmes for 2015 were handed out.
